Why Maplevale Fabrications?

Why Industrial and Municipal Contractors Choose Our Pipe Fabrication Services

Most fabrication services operate on long queues. When a contractor needs a project turned around in days, the typical answer at a larger shop is, “Get in line.” Maplevale Fabrications operates differently. With a 20-acre facility and a dedicated team of certified welders, we take on urgent work, rework, and complex pipe fabrication projects that bigger shops are too backed up to handle.

Our in-house Revit MEP detailing is a real differentiator. We model each job in 3D, generate accurate material takeoffs and cut lists, and catch fit-up problems before a single piece of steel is cut. That means fewer surprises at the project site, fewer wasted hours, and spool pieces that go together as drawn.

We fabricate in carbon steel and stainless steel, and hold certifications for regulated and high-stakes work:

  • CWB certification
  • NSF-61 for water and adjacent piping systems
  • TSSA registration for pressure vessels.

Our experienced team has the expertise to handle both straightforward and complex, municipal and industrial pipe fabrication and installations.

Fast-Turn Lead Times

Urgent pipe fabrication projects get real attention here. We can take on rush work when other shops have multi-week backlogs and, in critical situations, turn solutions around in as little as 24 hours.

Revit MEP Detailing In-House

Our detailer produces full 3D Revit models, material takeoffs, and cut lists for every project, so the components we ship match your specifications before fabrication begins.

Sketch to Fabrication

Send us field dimensions or a hand-drawn sketch, and we convert it into proper fabrication drawings. Most weld shops cannot do this in-house, and it removes a major source of delay from the early stages of your project.

Certified for Regulated Work

NSF-61, CWB, and TSSA credentials mean we can fabricate for water, wastewater, and pressure-rated piping systems that require verified compliance and documented welding procedure adherence.

Our Pipe Fabrication Services

Certified Welded Piping Services for Industrial and Municipal Projects

Our experienced team fabricates custom piping systems in carbon steel and stainless steel, with the certifications and in-house resources to handle complex, regulated, and time-sensitive scopes.

Carbon Steel Pipe Fabrication

Standard and heavy-wall carbon-fabricated steel pipe assemblies are precision-fabricated to your specifications, in diameters up to 108″, for industrial and municipal piping systems.

Stainless Steel Pipe Fabrication

Stainless steel pipe fabrication for corrosion-sensitive and regulated applications, including water treatment, food processing, and industrial process piping. Post-fabrication pickling and passivation are performed in-house.

Non-Destructive Examination (NDE)

We provide radiographic testing to examine the internal integrity of welds, identifying defects, voids, and discontinuities without damaging the component.

In-House Revit MEP Detailing

Full 3D Revit MEP models are developed for every project, with material takeoffs and cut lists generated before fabrication begins to reduce fit-up errors and project site rework.

How Does a Sewage Pumping Station Work? A Technical Breakdown

Sewage pumping stations are the unsung infrastructure holding municipal wastewater systems together. If you’re specifying, building, or maintaining one, you already know the stakes: a failed pump station doesn’t just inconvenience residents. It backs up sewage, triggers regulatory headaches, and puts the project team in the headlines for the wrong reasons. This breakdown covers what  … Read more

304 vs. 316 Stainless Steel for Water & Wastewater Piping: A Guide to Choosing the Right Grade

Stainless steel is a common default for water and wastewater piping. 304 and 316 are the two grades that come up most often in municipal and industrial applications, and on paper, they can look nearly identical. In practice, however, the wrong choice can mean accelerated corrosion, failed welds, or a material selection that doesn’t withstand  … Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials do you use to fabricate welded pipe?

We fabricate in carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Material selection depends on your project’s pressure, temperature, and chemical compatibility requirements. If your specifications call for specific alloy materials, send them over, and we will confirm capability before quoting.

What pipe sizes do you fabricate?

We fabricate in a wide range of sizes, from small-diameter process piping up to 108″ in diameter. If your scope involves unusual sizing or complexity, contact our team, and we will work through the details with you.

What certifications do your welders hold?

Our welders are CWB-certified, and all welding is performed in accordance with approved welding procedures. For regulated scopes, we also hold TSSA registration and NSF-61 certification, which is required for pipe fabrication on potable water and adjacent piping systems.

Can you fabricate a pipe from field dimensions or a rough sketch?

Yes, this is what we specialize in. If you do not have formal drawings, our in-house detailer will use Revit MEP to convert your field dimensions or sketch into a complete fabrication package. This is not a service most fabrication shops are capable of in-house, and it removes a major source of delay from the early stages of your project.

Can you provide stamped drawings?

Yes. We produce both 2D and 3D drawings in-house, and can provide engineer-stamped drawings where your project or jurisdiction requires them. For projects where you’re coming to us without formal drawings, our team can develop the full fabrication package from your field dimensions or sketches.

Do you offer non-destructive testing?

Yes. Radiographic testing and dye penetrant testing are both performed on-site. These methods let us verify the internal integrity of welds without cutting into or damaging the finished component, so you get documented evidence of weld quality before anything ships to your project site.

Do you offer on-site installation?

Yes. If your project requires it, our team can provide on-site welding and pipe installation. This is particularly useful when shop-fabricated spools need to be connected in the field or when site conditions make full pre-fabrication impractical.

Do you serve contractors outside of Alberta?

Yes. Our facility is located in Edmonton, Alberta, and we regularly complete pipe fabrication projects for contractors across Canada, including British Columbia. Delivery logistics are coordinated with your team throughout the project.

How quickly can you turn around a fabrication project?

Lead times vary by scope and complexity, but we regularly complete projects in 2 to 3 weeks. For urgent work, we can often respond faster. If you have a tight date, contact our team early, and we will give you an honest assessment of what is achievable.
